More kimono fabric, anyone? 
the black is actually from a mostly red kimono, but there were areas where the dye had faded to black. It reminds me of a fairy tale! Maybe sleeping beauty's roses were black... but no, these are tsubaki (camellia flowers) that are super sweet and fun to make. They look nice from a profile too-- I'll have to remember that next time I photo one.
Oh, yes, and the navy part is from a navy kimono.

I like the black with the gold. The dark color sheme is nice though. I wouldn't have guessed that the fabrics were from different kimonos. I could have imagined them being from ah Navy&Black kimono so it matches well 
The thought about Sleeping beautys roses being black is quite... interessting. Guess the dark fairy might liked something like that more then sweet pastel pink roses XD
