Sakura Chirimen Kanzashi: Pleasant Dreams by hanatsukuri Sakura Chirimen Kanzashi: Pleasant Dreams by hanatsukuri
New fabric for an old design:  Chirimen Sakura. Delicate colors.... by hanatsukuri <-- the original fabric is no longer sold. Alas!

More photos of the new one on: etsy page)
But this makes way for a new design. :) I quite like the delicate folds and the color balance! It's a little more light weight. What do you think?

That blue really pops beautifully. The dots on the leaves also highlight the shibori in the chirimen!

Nice design! Especially also I think these colors match to this design
very much as you say. the tinkle of a bell will make it be nicer.

How do you attach the bells at the end? Just sew them on or do you use eyepins and then glue them??

I use a combination of glue and stitching.

What an interesting fabric! It's a little bit different from the kimono fabric that you normally use. The overall impression is very soft.

Yes, the fabric is called chirimen! It's got a unique weave-- the zigy-zaggy pattern is a lot more textured than usual silks (which are known for being smooth). They come with a very pretty amount of patterns too-- hanatsukuri.livejournal.com/19287.html <-- I actually have quite a collection. ^_^

I really like how we can see the flower print of the chirimen on the flower petals. I think it's really cute like that.

Yeah~ the flowers are a little smaller than the original fabric I used, so you can make out the flower pattern. the pink is a little more subtle as well, so I think I like it all in all. :D
