Tsumami Zaiku: An Artisan's Guide to Kanzashi by hanatsukuri

Hello! I'm one of the contributors for the kickstarter project, "kck.st/1P5sqlu, hosted by Ariel Loh, and I am a contributing author for parts of the lovely book. Ariel is our head editor, main author, and team leader, as well as primary financial backer. My part is to provide some of the rewards, help advertise the project, and of course to contribute some of my knowledge to the book. We have 8 other contributing authors, so we have a wide array of expertise to share in our book!

We have launched the kickstarter! This is a joint effort by nine talented artists who are working together to publish a (print!) book to teach interested people about how to make tsumami kanzashi.

What we're really hoping for is not large donations-- we don't expect you to pay a lot. As little as $1 can really spread the word and help us reach a wider audience! Please do consider backing us.

Our book's homepage:www.tzartisan.com/
The short url for the kickstarter: kck.st/1P5sqlu

The deviantART group is: :icontzartisans: (icon TBA...)

It's a lengthy print-book that discusses:
1) various petal types
2) has interesting tips: practical advice, adaptable ways to wear your craft (tsumami zaiku)
3) Projects! (Eg designs from the contributors)

This will be the first English-language kanzashi book that doesn't utilize sewing techniques, just the traditional kanzashi glue-and-pinch-and-starch methods. It's coming from an international group of artists, too, which we think is useful. We include tools,tips, and all that good stuff.

...also as kickstarter does, there are many rewards for donating. Have a look and see if there's something you're interested in! We've got a tall order (publishing a book is not cheap), and hope to get enough interest to print and deliver our hard work.

I hope to see you at Kickstarter!

Also, feel free to join the TZArtisans community here on deviantART. Anyone can contribute kanzashi to the folders, and enjoy the international community who make flowers. :D

Update:
So, as you might have noticed, the kickstarter ended for our book-- and I've not had time to post a journal about it. Sometime next month I shall pick that up again~ but briefly, if you go to the website, you can subscribe to updates, donate via paypal if you so choose, or purchase a kanzashi from store-envy. The proceeds all go toward printing our book. Nod  I'm working on finishing my donations toward the group project (shipping internationally), but I'm not quite done yet. So many assignments!

...This might end up being the first campaign I ever support on Kickstarter.  ;w;
