Description

All the colors of La, brought to you in a hydrangea-esque bush thing. (Kanzashi color sampler handmade by me. All made of natural white silk before dyeing each one, one petal at a time). Which colors do you like?

In case you wanted to know what I call these colors. Hand Dyed Kanzashi Color Chart by hanatsukuri This is the standard color mix, with about half of the flowers being mixed. (Like turquoise and green, purple and pink etc etc) Also, I can still make most colors either darker or lighter, and mix two colors together to get new shades...

Painstakingly hand-dyed one petal at a time over a period of two weeks. This little project took A Long Time. I kept trying to dye these little flowers on my parents table before my niece came home from school, but I just kept thinking of more colors. So my niece saw me painting with gloves and mask and said:

"What are you doing?"
"I'm dyeing."
"You're DYING??"
"No, I mean I'm changing the colors. D-Y-E."

And then:
"Can I help?"
"No."
"I want to paint with you!"
"You can paint at your desk, if you wear this mask."
She then paints her mask green...
Me: "I'm not giving you another one." *amused*
"It's ok. I'm done."

She finished a lot faster than I did.

Hello. Just found you. Awesome work! And realy inspiring! I'll start drawing your creations to improve my coloring skill.

Why is it so important to diy each one petal at a time? Do you colore them when you made the flower or you diy it as a canvas? What will happened if you diy like the whole flower? Is it going to spread everywhere or?
